Humans and avatars garden together one summer's evening as part of the Odyssey Performance Art Festival, Halifax, Canada/Second Life, August 2010.
A Second Life environment was projected live onto the backyard space. Live video from the yard was also streamed back to the internet so those in virtual space could see the projection in real space. Everyone gardened together in real time.
The performance featured Liz Solo, Fau Ferdinand, Anne Pickard, Patrick Lichty and Mike Kean live in Halifax and many performers participating from around the world as avatars live in Second Life. Here's a few pictures followed by a video link.
Based on the work of Cleve Backster and others we are working at creating devices that respond to input from plants. This is our first attempt at a hand built polygraph device, made by Jesse.
